Before you book
Is Surf Camps NZ just for kids?
No. Surf & Stay packages and Surf Tours are built for adults, couples and families first: tours take anyone aged 14 and up, and the Womens Wellness Retreat is 18 plus, or 14 plus if mum and daughter. Youth and Ultimate camps run alongside for ages 8 to 18.
Which trip should I book first?
Adults and couples start with Surf & Stay from $395 pp or a $495 Surf Tour. Kids 8 to 15 take Ultimate Surf Camp, teens Youth Surf Camp, and a 2hr lesson from $69 is the no commitment taster.
Can absolute beginners come?
Beginners are the specialty. Every trip is coached by ISA qualified instructors in ability split groups, and most first timers stand up on day one.
Where does everything run?
HQ is Te Arai in Northland with the Eco Pods and Glamping venue, plus the Surf Lodge at Mangawhai Heads. Lessons and kids programs also run at Te Arai, Orewa and Christchurch's Sumner.
Can I get there without a car?
Surf Tours include return transport from Auckland Airport, the CBD, Albany or Warkworth, and Ultimate Surf Camp has free Remuera and Albany bus pickups plus a $100 airport option.
How far ahead should we book?
School holidays and the Christmas to late January window fill first, and camps and tours run limited dated departures. Booking is instant with live availability, so lock dates early if they matter.
